About me
AI Researcher & Digital Culture Expert | University of Vienna
Emily Genatowski bridges the worlds of artificial intelligence, digital humanities, and creative innovation. A former leader at Google Arts & Culture in North America, she has collaborated with global institutions including NASA, The Smithsonian, and The US National Archives on groundbreaking AI-driven projects. Today, Emily heads a digital innovation lab at the University of Vienna, developing vector-based, AI-enabled methodologies that promote and connect research across disciplines.
As an educator, she pioneered the first academic master’s course on Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models in Humanities Research, offering hands-on experience with Brain-Computer Interfaces and collaborations with Interpol, the UN, and Bank of America. Her course was later adapted for DARIAH Campus, setting new standards for AI education in the humanities.
Emily’s work explores the social, psychological, and ethical dimensions of human-AI interaction. She has delivered talks at Harvard, Yale, the United Nations, and TED AI 2025, where she spoke on AI, Robotics, and Domesticity. Her publications and upcoming presentations at Oxford University, MMK Heilbronn, and AI Talks Budapest continue to shape the European AI discourse.
As a strategic advisor to the AI Academy Asia, Emily champions transparent, responsible, and human-centered innovation — inspiring a future where technology amplifies, rather than replaces, creativity and empathy.
